To optimize conversations around professional topics, Lumo, my digital alter ego was built. Available 24/7, Lumo is designed to reflect, respond, and engage with anyone who wants to spend a few minutes getting to know me better. The goal was to create a natural, conversational bot trained with my thoughts and perspectives on design. Lumo is still learning.

The process.
Researched how to build an AI bot, train it, and launch it in the short term.
Created .txt and .csv files to train the bot, crawled key links with up-to-date content, and crafted Q&A based on essential questions.
Built Lumo’s visual identity using Midjourney and Sora.
Customized chat interfaces with brand elements.
Tested Lumo with friends & family and colleagues.
Embedded chat bubble and deployed it on Framer.
Launched and iterated on the bot’s performance within the platform.

Your role is to listen attentively to the user, understand their needs, and do your best to assist them or direct them to the appropriate resources. What I learned.
Building an AI-powered bot is relatively straightforward, it simply requires researching and selecting the most suitable platform based on your goals.
For this project, Chatbase proved to be the most effective option in terms of speed and usability. However, it may not be ideal for cost-sensitive use cases, as the free tier only allows for 100 tokens.
A more cost-efficient alternative will likely be implemented in the near future, but for now, the current solution performs reliably and meets the project’s needs. Start a conversation with Lumo below 👇🏻!
